GRACE RESIN CLAY

Instructions and Tips for Use

STORAGE:

Always store your Grace clay in airtight packaging and containers. A good way to do this is by wrapping your unused Grace clay portions tightly with plastic wrap or in a baggie to keep the air out and then storing inside of an airtight container.

ADDING COLOR:

  1. Remove the desired amount of Grace clay to be colored from the package and knead to warm up and soften the clay.
  2. Using an acrylic based craft paint add a few drops of the desired paint color and knead into the Grace clay to even out the color.
  3. Continue to add paint sparingly and knead the Grace clay to work the color in evenly until the desired shade is reached.

HINTS:

  • The color will be darker when the Grace resin clay dries so stop adding color at a slightly lighter shade than you need for the finished item.
  • Test a small piece of clay first to make sure you get the desired result without wasting too much clay.
  • Grace clay may get sticky and tacky when adding the paint. If the clay gets too sticky wait a few minutes for it to dry and the clay will be ready to use.
  • If you go too dark add a little more clay to lighten it up.
  • Mix a colored piece of Grace clay with a white piece to get a marbled effect.
  • You can also paint Grace clay once it has dried.
  • Experiment and have fun, almost any color is achievable.

 DRYING:

  1. Grace Clay is air dry craft clay so you simply leave your clay item exposed to the air and it dries all on its own. No baking needed!
  2. Depending on the thickness of your clay piece it will normally take 1-3 days for your item to dry completely. Thinner items tend to dry within a day.
  3. Your item can be handled immediately if you are careful and after an hour or two it is resistant to minor bumps.

HINTS:

  • Your Grace resin clay item will shrink a little when it dries.
  • Grace resin clay tends to be harder than polymer clay when dry.
  • Work with small amounts of Grace resin clay and keep excess clay in airtight containers.
  • Let your Grace resin clay item dry in your flexible molds without fear of damaging the mold.
